Welcome to the Pulse Fitness Centre!
The Pulse offers a state-of-the-art, three-story climbing wall, and three brand new fitness studios on the third floor!
We invite members to use the Pulse's expanded cardio level that includes treadmills, ellipticals, Arc Trainers, rowers, ski-ergs, air bikes, recumbent and upright bikes, and step mills. The basement floor weight training section includes plate loaded equipment, selectorized and cable (weight stack) machines, free weights, racks and platforms. In addition, there is a brand new Women's Only fitness area including a wide variety of cardio and weights, as well as a women's Only fitness studio. We have everything you are looking for from a gym!

Fitness Classes

Group Fitness and Group Cycling classes are available to all members. No sign up required, but space is limited. Classes are being held in our new Pulse Studios. Take the stairs up to the top level.

A Pulse Membership includes access to all equipment, drop-in fitness and cycling classes as well as the Feather Family Climbing Wall. In addition, there is always at least one Personal Trainer monitoring the floor at all times so please do not hesitate to ask if you have a question or would like some assistance.
Welcome to the Pulse Fitness Centre! The Pulse is McMaster University's fitness centre and we have just what you need to lead a healthy, and active lifestyle. Our certified staff members have the skills and enthusiasm to put you on the road to a healthier you, no matter what your current fitness level, what your individual interests are, what your personal goals are, or your limited availability. We offer numerous educational workshops and fitness programs that guarantee Fun, Friendship and Fitness!
Please be aware of the following rules and regulations:
- Shorts, track pants, wind pants, and tights are permitted. Jeans, cutoffs, trousers and pants with zippers are not acceptable.
- Proper athletic footwear must be worn. Bare feet, Crocs, sandals, work boots, and dress shoes are not acceptable.
- Bags and other personal belongings must be left in a locker as these present a tripping hazard in the Pulse.
- Remember to bring your membership or student card to scan in at the front desk and to check out equipment.
